Improving fiscalization system at Smartix self-checkouts and kiosks

Originally our system used an algorithm for printing fiscal receipts, in which data from a self-service device based on Smartix software was sent to the cash register and then to the printing device.

Improving fiscalization system

Later this format began to cause difficulties due to the refusal of a number of companies to support the operation of their fiscal registrars with printer. One of examples is the Kaznachey FA manufactured by ATOL, when due to the changes that have arisen, owners of self-service devices are forced to fiscalize receipts through the cash register and print them themselves or display them on the screen in QR format.

In addition, kiosks from China and Korea with their own features of installed printers have begun to be actively supplied to the market. Each printer manufacturer has its own specific command system. Cash register’s manufacturers no longer support the relatively few printing devices from new manufacturers. And if they do support it, on average the release of new firmware takes 6 months, which means that adding a new printer is a very long process, the result of which is not guaranteed.

Assessing the current situation, we came to the conclusion that it was necessary to improve the printing system. It was decided to keep the previous operating modes and also add a new format:

At the moment, our system provides support for new printer models and printing of fiscal receipts. This expands the range of devices on which Smartix software can be run without any problems.

We continue to continuously develop the solution and adapt it to changing conditions to provide a quality product that effectively solves the tasks of our customers. Smartix out of the box software for self-checkouts and self-service kiosks supports all features required by modern business and if necessary the functionality is improved following changes in the market of self-service devices and automation systems.
